New Look and Christmas Decorations

Well, as it is plain to see, I've been messing with the look of the blog. I'll probably keep playing with it, but this is as good as it is getting tonight.

But before I go to bed, I had to post these pictures. Stephen, one of the crazy little V kids, made me some Christmas decorations for my house, since he knew we wouldn't be putting up a tree here. I've got to find the perfect place to show these little guys off, but for now, they are sparkling on top of my CD case.

In response to the 'Nog queries:

No cream, no problem. Whole milk will work well if you have it. My abroad experiences have been that most milk is whole. Finding 2 percent is do-able, but skim is rare.

I'm guessing th vanilla powder is vanilla sugar, like in Senegal and here. It works fine, but will obviously sweeten the 'nog. I use it in baking all the time. I'd say 1 packet of vanilla sugar = 1/2 tsp vanilla, but who knows. I would guess it dissolves fine in cold milk. Worst case, warm the milk a bit, stir in, then cool it.

(Anyone reading this, care package idea for Chris: vanilla)
